Yeah, we’re obsessed—not only with how they sound, but also with what they mean, how they look, the way they fit in with the rest of the family…you see where we’re going with this. To that end, our lists aren’t like the others you’ll find online. We’re over here adding Warner and Walker to the girls’ side; constantly evolving our boys’ file (Wish Leo wasn’t quite so popular? Enter lesser-used Lion); and brainstorming new classics that blur gender lines—we’re really digging Oak and Orion right now. Ultimately, our goal is to help you find The One, whatever that may be. And that’s exactly what we’ll do, without any of that friend/parent/in-law noise. This one is all about you—you and your future perfect.

Macaire Douglas

One night at bedtime back in 1980-something, Macaire (Muh-care-uh) settled in with her mom to read the book Chrysanthemum, a story about a mouse with a unique name. From that moment on, she had a new favorite book and a new favorite pastime: namestorming. A branding and social media consultant and the owner of Half Pint Shop, an online marketplace for modern nursery furniture, the mom of two boys is hip to the needs and expectations of new parents and keeps a finger firmly on the pulse of all that’s trending in babyland. Macaire and her family live in Barrington, IL.

Cara Sullivan

Mom to two little girls, Cara (Car-uh) is a Virgo perfectionist with a serious Goldilocks complex when it comes to naming. Though she’s kept a running list of favorites since childhood, bestowing just one of them on an actual live human was her first of many challenges as a parent. When she’s not daydreaming about names, the writer and former editor at Cosmopolitan, Allure, and Martha Stewart Weddings is likely arranging flowers in her basement studio or painting something black (while daydreaming about names, let’s be honest). Cara and her family live in Chicago, IL.

It’s pretty cool idea when you think about it. I mean, how many of us have a note pad open in our phone with a long list of “future baby names” on it? Future Perfect is basically the same thing, but with names you might not have ever thought of or considered.
